Julia Carrette Biography
Following 11 years in community relations and policy development Julia’s working life has included setting up charities, co-operatives, social enterprises and community projects in London, Southampton and Worthing a number of which either worked with or engaged young people. Julia has also worked with ex-offenders and been a funder having set up Brighton & Hove Safer Cities Funding Programme, followed by time as a Project Officer administering a £4.2 million portfolio of grant aided projects with Southampton Regeneration Trust. Much of Julia’s work has included addressing vulnerability, social isolation and barriers to engagement within so called ‘seldom heard’ or at-risk communities. For the past 15 years till 2016 as Chief Officer of Voluntary Action Worthing Julia has worked with 600+ voluntary, charitable and community organisations and those starting them; providing organisational and project facilitation, training and advice on all aspects. Julia volunteers with three charitable organisations, is a trustee of two and offers mentoring, training and supervision support.
